I want to post about something that is very important that took place in march, the Women History Month! A whole month is devoted to those great women that we should all honor. Women have play an incredibly vital role in change our nation's history. To remember their importance, I want to write about some of them. One of my favorites, is Helen Keller, because I did my book report on her last year. :)
Helen Keller- Keller was born on June 27, 1880, in a small town of Tuscumia, Alabama. When she was about 19 months old, she had a fever that made her deaf and blind. It is amazing how her teacher Anne Sullivan, formaly blind herself, use to teach her. At first, Keller was always upset, then one day, Sullivan took her out to feel the water. Afterwards, Keller became more open to the world. Sullivan use to draw letters on her hands and teach her. She knew many language, and was also smart. She became the first deaf and blind person to graduate from a college. She also helped other deaf and blinds and she was also a social worker. If you want to know more about her, i suggest you read her autobiography.
